Philippe Coutinho made his first public appearance in colours of Barcelona, before the medical and official presentation of Monday at the club.
The Brazilian star participated in a brief photo shoot in front of the media wearing a Barcelona jacket after Liverpool agreed to sell him to Barcelona on Saturday.
Coutinho was at the Camp Nou to see his new team’s 3-0 triumph over Levante on Sunday after his £ 146m move, which would make the Brazilian the second most expensive player in football history.
Speaking about Coutinho’s arrival at the club, Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde said: “It is a signing that has been talked about for a long time, here it is now and good luck to him because if he is lucky it will be good for us. ” ”
It shows Philippe Coutinho going on stage and posing for the cameras, greeting the photographers and offering an approved double for the flashes.
The 25-year-old then sent a message to fans of his new club before Monday’s formalities.
“Hello Barcelona fans, I’m here,” said Coutinho. “It’s a dream come true and I hope to see you tomorrow.”
Without Philippe Coutinho, Barca beat Levante 3-0 to increase their point at the top of the La Liga table to nine points, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Paulinho on the scoreboard.
